Yet at the same time, Ms. WhiteFeather interspersed the story with doses of humor that had me laughing out loud. I was delighted to read a book with a forty something hero and heroine. Each had their own issues involving age, and the author dealt with them sensitively. The hero’s disability added an additional facet to him. This too was handled with realism and compassion. It is quite apparent that the author did her homework regarding amputees.
